Celcom with Edge?

Yup,it’s true. Celcom is now activating its EDGE connection for broadband users. When you used your phone as datacard you’ll noticed that the sign EGPRS will appear on your screen. But it is not yet activated for nationwide. Enhanced GPRS (EGPRS) or EDGE is a digital mobile phone technology that allows increased data transmission rate and improved data transmission reliability. EDGE is generally classified as 2.75G. Although the EDGE connection by Celcom is like “turning back to the past”, but I believed that it reduced congestion issues as well as being a good replacement for super duper slow GPRS internet connection.
Sony Ericsson’s PC300 3.6Mbps data card: better late than never
Showing up a bit late,Sony Ericsson’s newly announced PC300 Mobile Broadband PC Card. It is PCMCIA, not ExpressCard. Their new radio-slab brings HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE and GPRS data at speeds up to 3.6Mbps. It runs automatic handoff between HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE supporting tri-band 850, 1900, 2100MHz HSDPA/UMTS and quad-band 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz EDGE/GPRS. It’s PC and Mac compatible. Fortunately, the antenna is integrated. Available at our store for only RM460.

Kan dah ckp dah. Kalo DiGi nak ade 3G, Maxis plak dah ade kedue-duenye, Celcom pon nak gak EDGE.
Tak sbr nak tunggu EDGE tu p nationwide… dan hrp2 esok2 Celcom allow-kan voice support kat diorang punye bb services. Celcom staff, are you reading this?

I tell u it no work. GSM900 tak cukup time slot untuk suara + data. Celcom sudah tutup tmtouch 1800 sistem. Cuma digi yg bertahan dgn edge sebab guna sistem gsm1800.

Dear Happy: Celcom dah integrate ngan TM Touch lamer dulu,dan dengan integrate ngan TM Touch Celcom dah dapat frequency band 1800,ini cerita lamer dah.Dan kat RBS Celcom tuh dah lamer ader TRU untuk EDGE cuma tak activate jer.

Hamba berdiam di Jerantut Old Town Pahang, indicator 3G Watcher ada tertunjuk EDGE Celcom GSM, akan tetapi data yang diterima terkemut-kemut adanya, laksana siput kinzir bergerak lakunya..
